UnsilentNight

St. Albert, Alberta

Monday, December 21, 2020
6:30 pm

Hosted by St. Albert Public Library

Though we can't assemble in St. Albert this year, we can still take to the streets to celebrate—separately but together. On Monday, December 21 at 6:30 pm, gather your household for your own Unsilent Night anywhere in the city. Everyone doing their own thing, lighting up the city with music!

Be part of a moving sound sculpture and spread some joy and light on the longest night of the year! Unsilent Night is an annual, worldwide event for all ages that uses sound to create a unique, ever-changing piece of art with the audience as the performer. Each participant chooses one of four parts of Unsilent Night music to be played aloud simultaneously while walking together outside.

It's easy to do— download the tracks or app and play on smartphones connected to Bluetooth speakers, or anything that will play an mp3, and you can do your own walk, in your own neighborhood.

Participants are encouraged to light up the night and stay safe by wearing bright, festive clothing, lights, and reflectors, by wearing masks if neighbours are out walking as well, and to keep it small and intimate being mindful of distance from other groups. Post your photos and videos using #UnsilentNight and #UnsilentNightT8N on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
